Free 3D-Printable Cases & Mounts for MicoAir Sensors

MicoAir's optical-flow and range sensors ship as bare boards — great for weight, less great when your drone meets the ground. We design and fly these sensors daily, so we've drawn up protective cases and airframe mounts for the whole lineup and released every one of them free and open-source. Print one before your sensor's first flight; your future self will thank you.

All designs are on our MakerWorld page with STLs and (where marked) ready-made Bambu print profiles. License: CC BY-NC 4.0.

Printing guidance for all designs

PETG is the sweet spot for sensor cases and mounts — tougher than PLA and handles summer heat near electronics. PLA works for indoor test rigs. Keep the optical apertures clean of supports and stringing: the optical-flow camera and the laser rangefinder both look through openings in these cases, and a wisp of filament across either one will quietly ruin your position hold.

MTF-02P case

3D-printable protective case for the MicoAir MTF-02P optical flow and range sensor

Our most-printed case (~200 downloads). Wraps the MTF-02P's board while leaving the optical-flow camera and rangefinder windows fully open; mounting tabs fit the sensor pattern used on the Grasshopper5.

MTF-01 case

3D-printable case for the MicoAir MTF-01 optical flow and lidar sensor

Slim protective shell for the original MTF-01 — board edges and connector covered, optics unobstructed.

MTF-02 case

3D-printable case for the MicoAir MTF-02 optical flow and lidar sensor

Same idea, sized for the MTF-02's footprint.

MTF-01 holder for 2-inch FPV drones

MTF-01 optical flow holder mounted on a 2-inch FPV drone

Tiny whoop-class builds rarely have anywhere to bolt a downward-facing sensor. This holder hangs an MTF-01 under a 2-inch frame with the optics aimed straight down — indoor position hold on a palm-sized quad.

GEPRC Cinebot30 MTF-01 holder

MTF-01 mount for the GEPRC Cinebot30 cinewhoop

Frame-specific mount that adds an MTF-01 to the popular GEPRC Cinebot30 cinewhoop — steady low-altitude hover for cinematic indoor shots without touching the stock frame.

3D-printable protective enclosure for the MicoAir WiFi Link telemetry module

The newest design: a snap-together enclosure for the WiFi Link dual-band telemetry module — bench protection and clean airframe mounting, with the antenna and connectors fully accessible. Referenced in the WiFi Link user manual.

Don't have the sensor yet?

Every sensor these designs fit ships from our Canadian warehouse with free Canada-wide shipping: MTF-01 · MTF-02 · MTF-02P · WiFi Link — or grab the complete 5-inch electronics kit, which includes the MTF-01P.
